Alan Fox

Alan brings more than 20 years of progressive executive experience in financial management, operations, and information technology across both public and privately held organizations. He blends high‑level strategic vision with hands‑on execution, often bridging the gap between business leadership and deep technical implementation. His background includes senior roles within multi‑site, multi‑state, and multinational healthcare services organizations, with the past 14 years focused on providing CFO services, management consulting, and technology‑enabled transformation as the founder of InoVoy and Cardiff Consulting.

InoVoy and Cardiff Consulting emerged organically as former colleagues sought Alan’s assistance with critical initiatives - demand that grew into a diverse portfolio of consulting and embedded-executive engagements, including:

Quorum Health Services (Hospital Management & Consulting) - Multi-year engagement serving as solution architect and project lead for back-office process reengineering, workflow automation and a Workday Implementation spanning four companies and five diverse business lines.

Emerus (Largest U.S. operator of micro-hospitals in partnership with major hospital systems) - Multi-year engagement with key projects including:

Chief Information Officer (Embedded Executive Role) - Reorganization of the Information Technology function to expand capabilities and align with organizational priorities.

Key Improvements included:

  • Improved system uptime

  • Organizational growth of 75% visit volume with limited additional staffing

  • Reducing onboarding integrations of new hospital system partners from months to weeks 

  • During COVID response, led the rapid transition of corporate operations - specifically Revenue Cycle and Accounts Payable - from fully in-office to fully remote and paperless in 10 days enabling a permanent shift that reduced the physical footprint to 30% of its original size.

Transparency reporting and workflow automations - Prior and subsequent to serving as CIO, implemented across Clinical Informatics, Patient Access, Case Management and Revenue Cycle functional areas. These initiative improved outcomes while cutting software-as-service fees and/or increased captured revenue, generating over $4 million in ongoing annual contribution.

Innovative Renal (Renal Dialysis Services) - Multi-year engagement focused on billing and collections automation and analytics, increasing annual captured revenue by over $20 million and accelerating the overall collections cycle

Early-Stage HealthTech and Healthcare Companies - Provided fractional CFO support for early‑stage companies in the HealthTech and healthcare‑provider space, leading all finance functions for capital formation, including integrated financial modeling, preparation of investor‑ready financial materials, and comprehensive due‑diligence support.

Alan blends financial and technical expertise, equally adept at analyzing financial results and navigating complex data and system architectures. Beyond this technical background, his skills include strategic planning, operational and accounting and finance including, financial planning, analysis, budgeting and modeling.

Alan’s industry experience includes key financial and operational leadership roles in healthcare, healthcare information technology and logistics companies.  Before founding InoVoy he served as Chief Financial Officer, Chief Accounting Officer, Vice President of Operations, and Controller. 

Alan began his career with Deloitte and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA Inactive) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA).  He holds an undergraduate degree in Accounting and a master’s in Information Systems and Accounting from Middle Tennessee State University, as well as an MBA from Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University.


Derek Bell

Derek is a strategic finance & accounting executive with over 20 years of multi-state, multi-site healthcare services experience at companies including Surgery Partners, Envision Healthcare, and Specialized Dental Partners.  He also has over 5 years of public accounting experience at Deloitte.  

As SVP of Accounting & Controller at Specialized Dental Partners (formerly US Endodontics Partners), Derek accomplished the following during a 3-year period: 

  • Supported a successful equity recapitalization with a multi-billion dollar private equity fund 

  • Scaled company annual revenue from $100M to $400M  

  • Built the accounting, treasury, and tax team from the ground up 

  • Led a successful conversion from Quickbooks to Sage Intacct 

  • Reduced the monthly financial close timeline from 18 to 11 business days, with ongoing automation to further accelerate 

  • Led accounting integration for over 100 specialty practice acquisitions, adding 40+ new practices each year 

  • Led the annual external audit process with no audit adjustments. 

As Group Controller at Envision Healthcare, Derek led the accounting team for the Central Group, Women’s & Children’s, and Surgery divisions ($1B annual revenue). 

As VP of Finance at Surgery Partners (formerly Symbion Healthcare), Derek led the accounting/finance team supporting 65 healthcare facilities (mostly surgery centers in a division generating $750M annual revenue).   He led both accounting and finance functions, and drove the integration of these facilities, majority of which had been acquired. 

Derek has a passion for building and mentoring high-performing teams, implementing systems & process improvements, and driving financial strategies that enable growth and operational excellence. 

Derek is an active CPA and obtained an MBA at the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University.
